Description
This degree programme is based on the Oxford-style "PPE". Its aim is to provide students with a solid grounding in political science, including international relations, philosophy with a focus on political philosophy and social ethics, and economics. The programme is organised by the Institute of Political Studies (IPS) in academic collaboration with the Institute of Economic Studies (IES). The emphasis is placed on learning to analyse complex social, political and economic problems in a multidisciplinary manner and to solve them from complementary perspectives. Since traditionally the PPE study programmes aim at educating civic, political and business leaders, the study of philosophy is included in the curriculum to foster critical and creative thinking and to stress the importance of ethical and global dimensions of the social, political and economic reality.
